About me

Hi! I'm Bek - A Registered Nurse from Western Australia. I graduated in 2019, finished my Graduate year in 2020 and am now working on a surgical ward.

During the end of my second year of my degree I was assigned a rural placement at a GP clinic 7 hours away. I was fine with the travel and excited for a solo adventure however had no idea what a GP clinic placement would entail. I took to Youtube in hopes of finding nursing students online that could tell me how I could prepare for such a placement. Not only could I not find any information on what to expect from this particular placement all the videos I did find were either from the UK or the US. This is where my idea sparked to fill this void in Australia. I started with trialling a “video diary” series of my experience completing a rural placement and ended up uploading them all plus many more to my Youtube channel.

My goals of starting my channel were pretty simple. I wanted to give nursing students more information about what to expect form nursing placements. After a bit of a shock at the amount of followers I gained, I have now expanded to providing advice to nursing students and graduates, writing blog posts of my experiences as a nursing student/registered nurse, providing tips and tricks for the graduate application, producing study aides and creating placement guides to help aide your student experience.

I absolutely love being a resource for nursing students and always want to feel like “that nursing friend” that everyone seems to have during nursing school. I want people to feel comfortable asking me all sorts of questions and trust that I will never use my platform to promote something for my benefit.
